As much as we’d like to deny it, the exams are getting closer and closer every day. No more Netflix until late in the evening, no more going out late at night, and –oh, God – no more sleeping in. At least not until the hurly-burly is over.
However, studying doesn’t have to be difficult. In fact, in many cases, it can be a lot more exciting than partying with your friends. Sounds ridiculous? It’s not – not if you are studying with the easy and fun techniques – the ones that the best students of the class won’t give away for free. Fortunately, we’ve found those techniques as well, and we’d like to share them with you right now so you can ace your exams.
1.Find What Kind of Learner You Are
First things first. You need to find out what your learning style is to produce more powerful results when it comes to studying. There are three main types of learners: visual, auditory or kinesthetic. You can discover yours through multiple methods, such as taking a learning style test online or simply experimenting to see which one suits you best (e.g. watch a short informative video, read a short paragraph and perform a short text as an “actor/actress”).
2.Tell Yourself a Crazy Tale
Memorizing the information in the textbooks by heart is neither fun nor easy. Therefore, you can turn the details into a silly story that you simply can’t forget. For instance, NATO can be transformed into Narwhals Attacked Titanic Overnight.
3.Work with Flashcards to Ace the Exams
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again. Studying with flashcards is more effective than simply reading your notes over and over. If you want to make it even more fun, you can pretend you are part of a quiz competition on a TV show. Set a final reward and see how many correct answers you can get. Studying doesn’t have to be dull. Get creative!
4.Read Through Your Textbook Upside Down
It may sound ridiculous, but it’s actually quite a smart thing to do. Simply turn your textbook upside down and try to figure out the words. This technique will keep you more focused on what you are reading and, as a result, you will memorize the information right away.
5.Teach Your Stuffed Animals a Lesson
Remember when you were little and laid down all your toys as if they were studying at school? No? Ok, that was probably just me. However, the idea is that you should try to teach somebody what you have just studied so you can fix the information in your mind. Sure, you can do this with a friend. But let’s be real – talking to stuffed animals is hilarious.
