If you are reading this post it means that you have successfully finished your final exams and got accepted into a good college. Maybe you are studying abroad or maybe a few hours away from home. Either way, this time you are on your own. But don’t worry, we got some survival tips ?
We know what it’s like to be away from home with no friends and no idea about what you should be doing. So here is a list of 3 scary thoughts that you might have before going to school.
The good news? We also tell you how to get rid of them.
#1 What if my roommate and I will not get along?
Studies show that on average, the majority of college roommates will become friends. But of course, there are also exceptions. If you end up being one, there are two solutions for you. Either you speak up and let your roommate know what bothers you or you talk to a staff member to help you switch rooms with another student.
#2 What if nobody will like me and I won’t make any friends?
Don’t be ridiculous. You are an awesome person, and you should have figured that out by now. Whether you had a lot of friends in high school or only one best friend, it means that somebody liked you for who you were. And because a normal university teaches around 4000 to 20,000 students every year, you can be sure that at least one of them will think you’re cool.
#3 What if I am not smart enough? I don’t want to be the weakest student in the class!
Since you got into the university, chances are you are smart enough. And even if you did not get the highest enrolment grade, we go to college with one purpose in mind – to learn. Plus, every university provides tutors, libraries, and the Internet. There are plenty of ways to get better at the courses that seem difficult to you. You can do it!
